Staff

CMW employs both full time and part time staff in its offices in Cardiff and in Caernarfon. Community Music Wales also employs over 70 freelance workers (tutors, mentors, engineers, studios, directors, etc.) who work on a range of creative music projects, events, training and activities. Activity is delivered on an outreach basis in partnership with a wide range of organisations across Wales

Hannah Jenkins

Hannah Jenkins DIRECTOR

The Director has primary responsibility for the effective creative and artistic management of the organisation. Hannah provides strategic guidance for the future direction of CMW, heading up the Senior Management Team and working as an advocate for community music. She has worked in many aspects of community arts for the past ten years including tutoring, arts development, managing and programming venues in South Wales, along with developing and managing a charitable organisation. Hannah has worked on international community arts initiatives, including running projects in South Korea and Thailand. She is a respected photographer, working with bands and specialising in boudoir style portraits.

Charlotte Little

Charlotte Little PROGRAMME MANAGER

Charlotte supports the Director in the strategic management of CMW, overseeing the delivery of activity for the whole company. Charlotte has worked for CMW for many years in a variety of roles. She is an experienced DJ, vocalist and musician and has worked extensively within marketing and design as both a graphic designer and a promoter.

Esyllt Williams

Esyllt Williams DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Esyllt supports the Director in the strategic development of the company and is responsible for the organisation's fund raising. She ran our Ciwdod scheme for 4 years as well as working across all of CMW's other Departments. Esyllt has worked in community arts and in the music industry. She is a DJ and a photographer.

Chris Dawson

Chris Dawson PROJECT OFFICER South Wales

Chris delivers the organisations Noise Works and Professional Development projects in South Wales, running a wide range of workshop based community music projects and training initiatives. He also worked as a community music tutor for CMW and for other employers for many years, after completing the CMW Community Music Tutor training programme in 1996.

Adam Williams

Adam Williams PROJECT OFFICER South Wales

Adam is responsible for delivering the Complete Control Music 14-19 projects in South Wales. He has worked for a number of community music organisations in Wales. Adam has an honours degree in Sound Technology and has over 10 years experience in sound engineering and music production. He is still active within the music industry as a producer.

Gethin Evans

Gethin Evans PROJECT OFFICER North Wales

Gethin joined CMW as a member of staff in 2006, he manages our Ciwdod scheme and delivers our Noiseworks and Tutor Training projects in North Wales. Gethin released a single with Complete Control Music in 2003 with the band Kentucky AFC and successfully completed CMW's Welsh language tutor training course in 2005. He works on one off gigs, tours and the award winning festival Miri Madog in Porthmadog and Gwyl Gardd Goll in Caernarfon. He has been hiding behind musicians as a drummer for many bands on the Welsh music scene most notably, Genod Droog, Kentucky AFC and Yucatan. He is a Virgo.

Martin Hoyland

Martin Hoyland PROJECT OFFICER North Wales

Martin is responsible for delivering the Complete Control Music 14-19 scheme in the North Wales area. Since first touring Germany at the age of 14, Martin has been active in the Music Industry: touring, recording, producing, promoting, managing record labels, as well as tutoring. He first worked as a Freelance Music Industry Mentor for CMW in 2009, before joining full time in June 2010. Martin currently plays guitar for the cult alt-folk/dub/psyche band ‘9Bach’.

David Hughes

David Hughes ACCREDITATION OFFICER

David joined CMW in 2002 as a Jobsearch Officer for the New deal for Musicians scheme. Since 2004 David has overseen all of CMW's registration and accreditation functions. He trained as a Careers Adviser and has worked as a general careers adviser, an unemployment specialist and an academic specialist with sixth formers intent on higher education, before he moved into management.

Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Sarah supports the running of the Cardiff office and the organisation's administration, finance and data systems. She has spent the last seven years working in Charity Fundraising in the West Country before moving to Cardiff.

Lindsey Leven

Lindsey Leven Administration and Marketing Assistant

Lindsey supports the organisation's administration and is responsible for marketing. Lindsey's education history is in Fine Art and Design. She also has experience of working with and playing in bands, and is still actively writing and performing.

Geoff Davies

Geoff Davies FINANCE OFFICER

Geoff Davies has been the CMW Finance Officer (part time) since May 1993. Geoff has been responsible for setting-up the computer accounting system for CMW which now enables close financial monitoring of the ever-increasing number of projects and accompanying overheads.

Cerys Brokenshaw

Cerys Brokenshaw ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

Cerys provides additional support to the CMW admin team and is employed through the Future Jobs Fund Scheme. She plays numerous instruments and is currently the moody bass player and excitable violinist in the band Llama Invasion. In her spare time she works on her circus skills.
