Staff
CMW employs both full time and part time staff in its offices in Cardiff and in Caernarfon. Community Music Wales also employs over 70 freelance workers (tutors, mentors, engineers, studios, directors, etc.) who work on a range of creative music projects, events, training and activities. Activity is delivered on an outreach basis in partnership with a wide range of organisations across Wales
Hannah Jenkins DIRECTOR
The Director has primary responsibility for the effective creative and artistic management of the organisation. Hannah provides strategic guidance for the future direction of CMW, heading up the Senior Management Team and working as an advocate for community music. She has worked in many aspects of community arts for the past ten years including tutoring, arts development, managing and programming venues in South Wales, along with developing and managing a charitable organisation. Hannah has worked on international community arts initiatives, including running projects in South Korea and Thailand. She is a respected photographer.
Charlotte Little PROGRAMME MANAGER
Charlotte oversees the delivery of activity for the whole company; managing the project staff in their day to day activities and managing the operational delivery of the departments. As a member of the Senior Management Team, Charlotte supports the strategic development of CMW by linking the company to current developments in musical innovation, legislation and in education and learning. She is an experienced DJ, vocalist and musician and has worked extensively within marketing and design as both a graphic designer and a promoter.
Sarah Smith FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Sarah oversees the administration and human resources for the whole company, in addition to managing the company’s finances. As a member of the Senior Management Team, Sarah supports the strategic development of CMW by linking the company to current developments in policy changes, employment legislation and charity structure. She previously worked in Charity Fundraising in the West Country before moving to Cardiff. She is a keen rugby fan.
Esyllt Williams DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Esyllt is responsible for the development of large-scale projects and the organisation’s fund raising. As a member of the Senior Management Team, Esyllt supports the strategic direction of CMW by linking the company in with both regional and national strategies and initiatives. Esyllt ran our Ciwdod scheme for 4 years as well as working across all of CMW's other Departments. She has worked in community arts and in the music industry. She is an experienced DJ and runs a long standing club night. She is also a photographer and broadcaster.
Chris Dawson PROJECT OFFICER South Wales
Chris runs a wide range of workshop based community music activity; delivering grant funded programmes and commissioned work across South Wales. He also works closely with the Programme Manager to develop our Training Packages. Chris is highly experienced in community music, having worked as a Community Music Tutor prior to becoming a Project Officer.
Mirain Evans WELSH LANGUAGE PROJECT OFFICER
Mirain is the Welsh Language Project Officer, based in our South Wales office. Her primary responsibility is overseeing the delivery of our Welsh language project, Ciwdod. She has experience in delivering educational music workshops and has a Masters Degree in Composition. Mirain is an accomplished violinist, playing in various Welsh language bands.
David Hughes ACCREDITATION OFFICER
David oversees all of CMW’s accreditation; working as an internal verifier, collecting and assessing evidence. He also develops new units alongside the Programme Manager. David’s background is education; he trained as a Careers Adviser and has worked as an unemployment specialist and an academic specialist.
Martin Hoyland MUSIC INDUSTRY MENTOR North Wales
Martin is responsible for delivering the Complete Control Music 14-19 scheme in the North Wales area. Since first touring Germany at the age of 14, Martin has been active in the Music Industry: touring, recording, producing, promoting, managing record labels, as well as tutoring. Martin currently plays guitar for the cult alt-folk/dub/psyche band ‘9Bach’.
Osian Rhys Roberts PROJECT OFFICER North Wales
Osian is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a wide range of workshop based community music activity, including both grant funded programmes and commissioned work across North Wales. Osian is an experienced singer songwriter, performing as both a solo artist and in a band. He is also an award winning visual artist.
Adam Williams PROJECT OFFICER South Wales
Adam is responsible for delivering the Complete Control Music 14-19 projects in South Wales. He has worked for a number of community music organisations in Wales. Adam has an honours degree in Sound Technology and has over 10 years experience in sound engineering and music production. He is still active within the music industry as a producer.
Lindsey Leven ADMINISTRATION & MARKETING ASSISTANT
Lindsey supports the organisation's administration and is responsible for marketing. Lindsey's education history is in Fine Art and Design. She also has experience of working with and playing in bands, and is still actively writing and performing.
Kathryn Slattery ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Kathryn supports the organisation's Administration, recently joining the team from her previous role as an Administrative support officer for Jobcentre Plus. Kathryn is currently undertaking a PGCE course in Post Compulsory Education and teaches part time in Film and Media studies.
