In 2007 Community Music Wales's Ciwdod project was approached by a young punk band from Criccieth called the The Stilletoes.

At the time it consisted of brother and sister Efa (17) and Iago (13) Thomas and a succession of bass players. Efa recalls "Community Music Wales made us feel like a band before we even considered ourselves to be one. Their encouragement pushed us" Over a period of six months Ciwdod mentors met and work with a band on getting them gigs "..they would put us on at their gigs, help us with travel expenses and always kept it fun and un-business like but always explaining why everything happened and what it was for, so we understood everything."  In addition to the handful of successful gigs, Ciwdod gave them some much valuable studio time and that demo seemed to bring them to the attention of the whole of Wales "That made us feel like a 'real' band, and made us seem like a 'real' band to other people". They went on to record a single with Ciwdod called ‘Sownd’ rleased on limited edition 7” pink vinyl.

The band went on to release with legendary label Ankstmusik and the band still gig all over Britain with Efa now a regular fixture on the Welsh music scene as a solo artist. In testament to the work of Ciwdod and Community Music Wales Efa finishes "In 2008 we released a single with Ciwdod, on pink vinyl! PINK VINYL! How many teenagers can say that?! We got signed to Ankstmusik and recorded an album with them soon after! We were playing up and down the country as much as we could with our awesome new merchandise! I think we probably would have stopped playing after about 2 months if CMW didn't exist"
