Jamie Burne
Jamie BurneIt has been a positive experience which has impacted on my confidence to create networks of musicians within the local area and beyond.
Jamie Burne is a producer and musician from Anglesey, who has worked in the
local music scene for many years. Community Music Wales came across him on a
wet and windy night in a under 18's gig in Blaenau Ffestiniog in 2006.
His mentor at the time recalls "This guy had the longest mic lead I have ever seen in my life and he would run about the venue anchored by this lead to the stage, he was a proper showman." He was soon registered with the Complete Control mentoring scheme and things started to develop for the budding musician.
Jamie says "I was involved in the CMW, Complete Control Music project for a year. During my time I was given active support by CMW mentors on my musical project. They helped me establish links with other artists and local businesses, and helped build foundations for future projects." He took a lot from the mentoring scheme "I found through their guidance I was able to take the initiative with organising events, working practically within a studio setting and becoming a more active member within the local musical scene."
He now has several successful projects on the go, and is continually touring, including trips to Europe to play on the festival circuit. "It has been a positive experience which has impacted on my confidence to create networks of musicians within the local area and beyond."
Complete Control Music was at the time funded by the European Social Fund, under the Objective 1 programme. We continue to run the CCM scheme, still partly funded by the European Social Fund, through the Reach The Heights Project, and now aimed at 14-19 year old musicians.
