Dean Goddard, Music Industry Mentor, Mold.

Whilst much of our focus is on participants and their journeys, they are not the only ones to benefit from CMW’s work. We often hear stories of how much Community Music Tutors and Mentors gain from working with groups and engaging with participants. Here Dean Goddard shares his experience.

 Dean worked as a freelance Music Industry Mentor with bands in North Wales on the Complete Control Music and Ciwdod projects. Dean was a mentor for, amongst other bands, The Stilletoes and helped the band develop and worked alongside them to release their first single with Ciwdod. 

 "Working with CCM was one of the best, most fulfilling things I've ever done - seeing bands such as Radio Luxembourg (now Race Horses), Derwyddon Doctor Gonzo and The Stilletoes grow into great bands releasing acclaimed records and gathering excellent live reputations is extremely satisfying."

 Dean goes on to add "I wish CCM had existed when I was starting out in music, I'm sure that, with the guidance and the support they give to bands, I would've had a lot easier, and happier time when I was venturing into the music business in the late 70's and early 80's."
