  • rnib poster

On Friday 3rd July, Community Music Wales, in partnership with RNIB, will be holding a free ?visual awareness? training workshop for anyone wishing to work with visually impaired people.

?The session, which will be taking place in Caernarfon, will be an ideal training opportunity for those working in the voluntary sector.

?The practical session will be delivered by an experienced RNIB representative and the workshop aims to provide sighted people with an understanding of the difficulties of living with restricted vision.

Participants will gain confidence in approaching and assisting people who have a visual impairment and will be able to provide guidance on the adjustments required for visually impaired students.

The session will also give participants the chance to discuss challenges and ask questions in a confidential environment with an experienced trainer.

?Gethin Evans, Community Music Wales? Project Officer in North Wales said?

"This is a great opportunity for people working in the voluntary sector to gain knowledge and understanding in an area that is not often explored. The training will provide vital and transferable skills for those wishing to work with the visually impaired from an experienced professional??

?Those interested are advised to book a place early as places are limited and the course is expected to be full. The training will be held at the Galeri in Caernarfon on Friday 3rd of July with a 10am start.

?

If you would like to register for the course or would like further information please contact Gethin Evans on 01286 685 248 or email gethin.evans@communitymusicwales.org.uk
