Arts & Business Awards
Last week, Community Music Wales were proud to attend the 18th Arts & Business Cymru Awards.
A&B Cymru connects companies and individuals to arts organisations and provides the expertise for them to work together. Their annual awards programme recognises outstanding partnerships and organisations.
Simon Groves, Chair of Community Music Wales, was nominated for ‘Individual of the Year’ award. This award is in recognition of an outstanding contribution to an arts organisation by an individual working through Arts & Business Cymru’s Professional Development Programmes.
CMW are delighted to report that Simon was awarded as a finalist. He said; “It was a real buzz to be shortlisted for this year's A&B awards - especially when I saw the illustrious list of nominees. But none of us do this to win awards: we do it because we hope to contribute in some small way to the success of the arts organisations we work with - and what we get back in return makes it absolutely worthwhile.”
Simon’s contribution to CMW since joining the board has been more than small. His support and enthusiasm is driving CMW forward, raising the organisations profile and generating new income.
Congratulations, Simon, and many thanks again for your work with to Community Music Wales.
