Ciwdod Release
Threatmantics are a rock and roll band.
They are not like other rock and roll bands.
This is mainly due to their lead guitar being a viola and their drummer and keyboardist being the same person, at the same time. Throw in some guitar for good measure and you have Threatmantics.
Consisting of the two Davies boys, Heddwyn (lead vocal + viola) and Huw (drums + keys) and the improbably English Ceri Mitchell (guitar), Threatmantics have been going for almost two years. They come from Neath and St Albans, and live in Cardiff.
And here is their first CD, lovingly released on Ciwdod on 5th March, it features Radio Cymru and Adam Walton favourites Don’t Care and Stoogie plus brand new song Esgysion.
That’s not all.
The band have radio sessions with Adam Walton and C2, an appearance on HTV’s ‘Unsigned’ programme, support slots with Euros Childs and a limited edition single on Huw Stephens’ AM Records all to come.
All this will hopefully mean that this is the year Threatmantics are largely ignored by NME, but loved by everyone else.
