It has been a positive experience which has impacted on my confidence to create networks of musicians within the local area and beyond.

Community Music – Making Music Work

These are seminars aimed at helping organisations to understand the way music can be used to engage with groups. Community music can impact the lives of even the hardest to reach individuals and groups, it can have a hugely positive effect if delivered in a sensitive and client centred way.

These seminars are designed to explore the principles of community music and look at:

·      Introducing community music to your workplace

·      Ways of integrating music activity into existing programmes

·      Adapting space for use

·      Responsibilities as an organisation running such activity

·      Help identify training needs

These sessions are also an opportunity to share ideas and best practise.

Seminars are designed for the following groups, but can benefit a wide range of people:

·      Those running community initiatives or centres

·      Youth Workers

·      Community Organisations

·      Local Authority Officers

·      Those with music skills, who work with disadvantaged groups or who would like to incorporate music into the work of their organisation
