….Kulture House Cymru is a creative, peer-led programme supporting mental health and wellbeing through music-based activities. Inspired by the Culture House model and the internationally recognised Guided Functional Peer Support (GFP) approach, Kulture House centres lived experience, collaboration, and creativity as powerful tools for connection and healing.
The project was born out of a fruitful international exchange of ideas and best practice with Finnish organisation Kukunori, whose pioneering work in cultural wellbeing has helped to shape the Kulture House Cymru approach.
Participants shape and lead a mix of music and media-based sessions—from DJing and hand drumming to podcasting, band work, and music production—in an inclusive space built on trust, passion, and shared purpose.

….At Cathays Community Centre, the current Kulture House Cymru group meets every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm. Across a 16-week programme, participants spend the first half exploring different aspects of music and music production, before moving on to create and develop their own original work. The project will culminate in December with a sharing event, celebrating the creativity and achievements of the group.
The programme is guided and supported by Community Music Wales tutor and mentor Jack Egglestone, ensuring participants have the encouragement and expertise they need to develop both musically and personally.
The Culture House model also encourages and supports individuals who are interested in taking on leadership roles, with opportunities to develop peer-to-peer sessions as the project grows and evolves into 2026.
