Cornerstones was an innovative development programme designed for passionate, creative individuals ready to begin a career in community music.
Run by Community Music Wales and funded by Arts Council Wales and the Youth Music Incubator Fund, the programme supported thirteen emerging practitioners — providing training in project management, participatory practice, funding, networking, and business skills. Participants also received mentoring, networking opportunities, and funding to bring their own music projects to life, strengthening grassroots music-making across Welsh communities.
“Cornerstones was an investment in the future of participatory music in Wales,” said CMW Director Hannah Jenkins. “It helped nurture creative talent, providing the right conditions for it to flourish, while enabling more people to experience the arts in a positive way.”
