Cornerstones
Do you have an idea for an innovative music project? Can you capture the beating heart of a community and find creative new ways to strike a chord with musicians?
Cornerstones is an exciting new development programme for fresh thinking and passionate individuals ready to kickstart a career in community music.
“We want to invest in the creative futures of individuals with exciting new ideas in the field of community music delivery” explains CMW Director, Hannah Jenkins. “If you’re working on an innovative music project, we want to hear from you. Especially if your project idea can capture the beating heart of a community and strike new and creative chords with people.”
The programme will aim to recruit thirteen successful candidates – ten from all ages, plus an additional three under the age of twenty-five – to receive comprehensive training in project management and participatory practice, while developing skills in:
+ Project planning
+ Developing and setting outcomes
+ Budget/ financial management
+ Funding including ACW, trusts and foundations Partnership and networking
+ Business admin
As well as receiving mentor support and networking opportunities, you will also receive funding to help turn your ideas into dynamic and deliverable new projects.
As Hannah concludes, “We want more people to experience arts in a positive way and we see Cornerstones as an investment in the future of participatory music in Wales. An investment that will continue to strengthen grass-roots community music delivery, and nurture creative talent by providing the right conditions for it to flourish.”
