How do you feel partnership work benefits your organisation, your participants and your projects?
Ty Canna has always worked in partnership with other agencies so that there are a wider range of opportunities available to others. We have worked in partnership with CMW for over 10 years and built a sound working relationship based on trust and respect .
What have you enjoyed most about collaborating with CMW?
It is always a pleasure to work with CMW as we have a mutual understanding of each other’s organisations. This enables us to work on project development quickly and effectively. The recent Awards for All project was successful in
Offering talented musicians, the opportunity to go into a recording studio to record their work. It was lovely to see this positive outcome and people increasing self- confidence.
There was a strong focus on Peer working on this project and there were numerous examples of effective peer support for individuals.
Can you share a highlight or memorable moment/project from our work together?
The Listening party that was organised at Llanover Hall for people to listen to the recording. This included individuals’ family and friends alongside partners on the project. The music group did a live performance which was very well received.
What is the most rewarding part of the work your organisation does?
Seeing people with enduring mental health needs able to move through recovery through engaging with Ty Canna. The music projects offered by CMW are a key part of this – tapping into people’s creative talents.
Another rewarding aspect is when people from within the service ask to volunteer to help others.
What are your hopes and dreams for the future of your organisation, and the participants you work with?
To continue to enable more people move through recovery so that they can lead valued lives.
