Mwldan

….Tell us about the work you do, and the people you work with.
Mwldan is a performing arts centre and cinema located in Aberteifi/Cardigan, west Wales. We have an extensive community participation programme, and we also deliver festival events, music artist management, and music touring production and releasing. We have a staff team of 25 people, and welcome more than 90,000 via paid admissions and attendances every year.

How do you feel partnership work benefits your organisation, your participants and your projects?
We work with a large number of partner organisations to develop and deliver projects. Each partner brings their own specialisms and experience to each project, which combined with our own experience, community relationships and brand integrity always make the outcome richer and more successful.

What have you enjoyed most about collaborating with CMW?
We’ve managed to deliver two important projects which wouldn’t have happened were it not for CMW’s involvement, so the sense of achievement and benefit for others is really valuable.

Can you share a highlight or memorable moment/project from our work together?
The performance culmination of the artist development programme in December 2024, and also seeing two local bands performing as part of Other Voices Aberteifi 2025 as a result of our Mwyhau project with CMW.

What is the most rewarding part of the work your organisation does?
Developing and delivering music projects, whether recorded releases, international touring performances or ambitious festival events such as Other Voices. And delivering a great year round programme of events and screenings to our local community.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future of your organisation, and the participants you work with?
These are difficult times for the arts, and everyone who works in the creative community. I hope that we can pass through the current difficulties into more stable and sustainable circumstances that enable maximum benefit and potential for everyone – artists, creatives and communities.

Beth yw'r rhan fwyaf gwerth chweil o'r gwaith y mae eich sefydliad yn ei wneud?

Datblygu a chyflwyno prosiectau cerddoriaeth, boed yn recordiadau, perfformiadau teithiol rhyngwladol neu ddigwyddiadau gŵyl uchelgeisiol fel Other Voices. A chyflwyno rhaglen wych o ddigwyddiadau a dangosiadau drwy gydol y flwyddyn i'n cymuned leol.

Beth yw eich gobeithion a'ch breuddwydion ar gyfer dyfodol eich sefydliad, a'r cyfranogwyr rydych chi'n gweithio gyda nhw?

Gisda

….Tell us about the work you do, and the people you work with.

GISDA is a charity that provides support and opportunities for homeless and vulnerable young people in Gwynedd by providing accommodation; therapeutic support to develop confidence and independent living skills; wellbeing and mental health support; support to move on to employment, education and/or training; creative activities to raise confidence and develop skills; opportunities to broaden horizons. This is to achieve our vision that the young people of Gwynedd can live happy and safe lives free from disadvantage and unfairness.

How do you feel that partnership working benefits your organisation, your participants and your projects?

We have seen first-hand the positive impact of music on the lives of young people through our work with our partner, Community Music Wales. The partnership has been extremely beneficial for our organisation, our young people and our projects, confirming GISDA's use of music as a tool for personal development and wellbeing. The collaboration also provides creative opportunities that we might not offer on our own, and helps to build confidence, creative skills and positive personal expression

What have you enjoyed most about working with CWK?

We have enjoyed working with the musicians we have met through working together with Community Music Wales. They have greatly inspired our young people, giving them fun and confidence to experiment and express themselves. We are very grateful to the partnership for giving us the opportunity to work with them and see the positive difference they are making.

Can you share a highlight or memorable moment/project from our work together?

One of the biggest highlights of our work with Community Music Wales was when we went over to Sound Studio to record a song as part of the "Aber i Aber" project and heard that song played on the radio. It was a very memorable moment for our young people, giving them great confidence and showing how their creativity and voice are valued. Experiences like this have left a lasting impression on our team and the young people.

What part of the work your organization does is most rewarding?

The most rewarding part of our work is seeing our young people grow, develop confidence, and start to believe in their own abilities. At GISDA, we offer safe accommodation, one to one support, and opportunities to develop life, education and work skills. Whether that is through accommodation support, support to move on to work, support to be creative, or support to improve mental health, every step forward is an important moment. Seeing the positive change in their lives makes every minute of our work feel worthwhile.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future of your organisation, and the participants you work with?

Our hope is to continue to be a safe place that young people can turn to for help and support at any time. We want to see the young people of Gwynedd flourish, feel that they are supported, and know that our staff are here to assist them every step of the way. We look forward to continuing to use music and creativity as a way to inspire young people, to support their well-being and confidence, and we hope that partnerships such as our collaboration with Community Music Wales will help us realize this dream and make it a reality for more young people.

Do you have a piece of music that inspires your work?

One of the pieces of music that inspires us is “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman. It reflects the message we are trying to promote with our young people: be proud of yourself, use your voice, and express yourself freely. It inspires us to create a safe and supportive space where young people can grow and thrive.

If someone wanted to support or get involved with your organisation, what is the best way?

Anyone is very welcome to support GISDA, whether that be by volunteering with our young people, raising money, or sharing our work and messages on social media. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference. Dywedwch wrthym am y gwaith rydych chi'n ei wneud, a'r bobl rydych chi'n gweithio gyda nhw.

Mae GISDA’n elusen sy’n rhoi cefnogaeth a chyfleoedd i bobl ifanc digartref a bregus yng Ngwynedd drwy darparu llety; cefnogaeth therapiwtig i ddatblygu hyder a sgiliau byw’n annibynnol; cefnogaeth lles a iechyd meddwl; cefnogaeth symud ymlaen i gyflogaeth, addysg a/neu hyfforddiant; gweithgareddau creadigol i godi hyder a datblygu sgiliau; cyfleoedd i ehangu gorwelion. Mae hyn i gyrraedd ein gweledigaeth bod pobl ifanc Gwynedd yn gallu byw bywydau hapus a diogel yn rhydd o anfantais ac annhegwch.

Sut ydych chi'n teimlo bod gwaith partneriaeth o fudd i'ch sefydliad, eich cyfranogwyr a'ch prosiectau?

Rydyn ni wedi gweld yn uniongyrchol effaith cadarnhaol cerddoriaeth ar fywydau pobl ifanc drwy ein gwaith gyda’n partner, Community Music Wales. Mae’r bartneriaeth wedi bod yn hynod fuddiol i’n sefydliad, ein pobl ifanc a’n prosiectau, gan gadarnhau defnydd GISDA o gerddoriaeth fel offeryn ar gyfer datblygiad personol a lles. Mae’r cydweithio hefyd yn rhoi cyfleoedd creadigol y gallem beidio â’u cynnig ar ein pen ein hunain, ac yn helpu i adeiladu hyder, sgiliau creadigol a mynegiant personol cadarnhaol

Beth ydych chi wedi'i fwynhau fwyaf am gydweithio â CGC?

Rydyn ni wedi mwynhau gweithio gyda’r cerddorion rydyn ni wedi’u cyfarfod trwy gyd-weithio gyda Community Music Wales. Maen nhw wedi ysbrydoli ein pobl ifanc yn fawr, gan roi hwyl a hyder iddyn nhw i arbrofi a mynegi eu hunain. Rydyn ni’n ddiolchgar iawn i’r bartneriaeth am roi’r cyfle i ni weithio gyda nhw a gweld y gwahaniaeth cadarnhaol maen nhw’n ei wneud.

Allwch chi rannu uchafbwynt neu foment/prosiect cofiadwy o'n gwaith gyda'n gilydd?

Un o’r uchafbwyntiau mwyaf o’n gwaith gyda Community Music Wales oedd y tro pan aethom draw I Stiwdio Sain i recordio cân fel rhan o’r prosiect “Aber i Aber” a chlywed y gân honno’n cael ei chwarae ar y radio. Roedd hi’n foment gofiadwy iawn i’n pobl ifanc, gan roi hyder mawr iddyn nhw a dangos sut mae eu creadigrwydd a’u llais yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi. Mae profiadau fel hyn wedi gadael argraff barhaus ar ein tîm a’r pobl ifanc.

Pa ran o'r gwaith y mae eich sefydliad yn ei wneud sydd fwyaf gwerth chweil?

Y rhan fwyaf gwerth chweil o’n gwaith yw gweld ein pobl ifanc yn tyfu, datblygu hyder, a dechrau credu yn eu gallu eu hunain. Yn GISDA, rydym yn cynnig llety diogel, cymorth un i un, a chyfleoedd i ddatblygu sgiliau bywyd, addysg a gwaith. Boed hynny trwy gymorth llety, cymorth i symud ymlaen at waith, cefnogaeth i fod yn greadigol, neu gefnogaeth i wella iechyd meddwl, mae pob cam ymlaen yn foment bwysig. Mae gweld y newid cadarnhaol yn eu bywydau’n gwneud i bob munud o’n gwaith deimlo’n werth chweil.

Beth yw eich gobeithion a'ch breuddwydion ar gyfer dyfodol eich sefydliad, a'r cyfranogwyr rydych chi'n gweithio gyda nhw?

Ein gobaith yw parhau i fod yn le diogel y gall pobl ifanc droi ato am gymorth a chefnogaeth ar unrhyw adeg. Rydyn ni eisiau gweld pobl ifanc Gwynedd yn ffynnu, yn teimlo eu bod wedi’u cefnogi, ac yn gwybod bod ein staff ni yma i’w cynorthwyo bob cam o’r ffordd. Rydyn ni’n edrych ymlaen at barhau i ddefnyddio cerddoriaeth a chreadigrwydd fel ffordd i ysbrydoli pobl ifanc, i gefnogi eu lles a hyder, a gobeithiwn y bydd partneriaethau fel ein cydweithio â Community Music Wales yn ein helpu i wireddu’r freuddwyd hon a’i gwneud yn realiti i fwy o bobl ifanc.

Oes gennych chi ddarn o gerddoriaeth sy'n ysbrydoli eich gwaith?

Un o’r darnau cerddoriaeth sy’n ein hysbrydoli yw “This Is Me” o The Greatest Showman. Mae’n adlewyrchu’r neges rydyn ni’n ceisio ei hybu gyda’n pobl ifanc: bod yn falch ohonoch eich hun, defnyddio’ch llais, a mynegi eich hun yn rhydd. Mae’n ysbrydoli’n ni i greu gofod diogel a chefnogol lle mae pobl ifanc yn gallu tyfu a ffynnu.

Os oedd rhywun eisiau cefnogi neu ymwneud â'ch sefydliad, beth yw'r ffordd orau?

Mae croeso mawr i unrhywun gefnogi GISDA, boed hynny drwy wirfoddoli gyda’n pobl ifanc, codi arian, neu rannu ein gwaith a’n negeseuon ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol. Mae pob cyfraniad, mawr neu fach, yn gwneud gwahaniaeth go iawn. I gael rhagor o wybodaeth neu i ymwneud â’n sefydliad, gallwch fynd i’n gwefan www.gisda.org neu gysylltu â’n tîm yn uniongyrchol wrth ffonio (01286 671153) neu ebostio (gisda@gisda.co.uk).…..
